Quality appears to be terribly hit and miss on these cheaper Gibsons, and this one may be a total miss. The guitar is full of a joke of a checklist that claims it's created with playable action and dressed frets, however the issue is as cheaply designed because it may well be. My $400 Epiphone is superior in each thanks to this guitar that I paid over $1000 for, since i am a lefty.
The pickguard does not work tightly against the pickups, however simply wobbles there on the left aspect where there isn't any screw. It feels low-cost and poorly designed like that.
The frets are unplayable. they're high and sharp. it'd value me $100 to possess a guitar tech file them down and reset the intonation. As is, the perimeters of the frets were cutting into my fretting hand once a number of minutes of play.
The action out of the box is ridiculously high. i do not mind doing somewhat setup, however once i noticed the nut is cut in such some way that i might got to replace or fix it immediately to line the action where i need, i made a decision it wasn't definitely worth the hassle, thus i'm returning the guitar.
I like the satin look of the guitar. I might do while not the areas that they do not hassle to color in any respect to create it "worn," however that is the sort of the guitar, therefore I knew what i used to be obtaining there. As so much because the playability out of the box, the issue is worthless. I actually have a $100 SX guitar from Asia that was within the unusable condition of this yankee created Gibson, and each Epiphones that I actually have purchased were vastly superior for 1/10th and 2/5th the cash.
I was quite pleased with the sounds I got out of the P90s, however. i might strongly advocate that you simply visit a guitar search and check the factor out personally before you purchase. If you get a hold of 1 that's well engineered and created, you found a gem. For me, though, as a lefty, it's nearly not possible to undertake before I get, and given how poor this one was, i'll taking a refund and not ordering a replacement.
